What kind of bussiness structure do i form to protect my business from my personal tax liability?

I am starting my own catering company here in austin texas and i want to know what kind of business structure i need to form.
As the result of a divorce, i have a lot of back taxes and bad credit. I need to know how to protect my small business from my personal crap.
Can anyone help? Please?
Shoot for an LLC (limited liability corp.) because it will safegaurd you and is quite feasable to acquire.
